**Bhubaneswar**: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned to dethrone the ruling BJD in Odisha, the State unit of the saffron party on Thursday said its national president Amit Shah will kick start booth boosting programme from Ganjam district.
BJP sources had said that Shah will visit the State in June and August to hold meetings at booth level.
Shah will be in State on June 22, 23, 24 and again for three days in August- August 8, 9, 10, BJP confirmed.
Briefing to media persons, State BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty said: “Amit Shah is likely to stay in Odisha for two days-June 22 and 23 and he will start the campaign from Ganjam district. During his stay here, he will meet leaders and workers at grassroots level. As per the preliminary plan, booth meeting will be held in the morning hour and morcha meeting to be conducted in the afternoon.”
Meanwhile, the ruling BJD said Shah’s tour would have any effect on the party’s performance.
“The BJP will never be with people of Odisha forever. They will forget the state after completion of election. BJD was with the people and will always stay with Odia people. Their booth level meetings wouldn’t have any impact on our party’s performance,” said BJD leader and Deputy Chief Whip Rohit Pujari.
