Amit Shah To Nominate Leader Of Opposition In Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: With two days to the first session of 16th Odisha Assembly, BJP MLAs have passed a resolution authorising party’s national president Amit Shah to decide the name of the Leader of Opposition in the House.

The decision was taken in a meeting which was also attended by two Union Ministers and Saroj Pandey, the central observer for the election of BJP’s legislative party leader in the Odisha Assembly.

BJP’s Dhamnagar MLA Bishnu Charan Sethi said the legislators have decided to unanimously accept the name proposed by the national president, who will declare it before the assembly session commences.

Sethi further informed some of the major issues the party will raise in the assembly such as lack of doctors in hospitals and medical colleges, lack of teachers in schools and absence of proper measures to check floods during the ongoing monsoon season.
