Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Amrit Bharat Express connecting Berhampur to Udhna in Gujarat will now operate daily, responding to growing passenger demand. Earlier, the train ran three times a week.
The State Government had requested Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to increase the train’s frequency, citing passenger demand. Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena expressed gratitude to the Railway Minister for approving the request.

“Keeping in view the needs of the people, the Berhampur-Udhana Amrit Bharat express train, which was scheduled to run 3 days a week, will now run daily. Thanks to the Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri AshwiniVaishnaw, for keeping the request,” Jena tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the Amrit Bharat Express in September, highlighting its potential to boost connectivity, tourism, and economic growth. The train covers approximately 1,710 km in 30 hours, passing through key economic hubs in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat .
