Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday announced that all Anganwadi centres in the state will have morning classes from Monday owing to the heat wave condition prevailing across the state.
In a notification issued on Sunday, the Women and Child Development Department stated that as per the decision of the government, all Anganwadi centres will operate from 7.00 am to 10.00 am from April 17. The decision has been taken considering the prevalent heat wave condition in the state.
The Anganwadi centres have also been directed to make arrangements for an adequate supply of drinking water for the children and their staff during working hours.
However, the district collectors have been told to make changes in the timing of the Anganwadi centers as per the heat condition in their areas. They can also declare the closure of the centers, if necessary
