Balasore: An Anganwadi worker was attacked and robbed at her house in Bari Markona village in Balasore district.

The incident occurred when victim Sukanti Sahu’s husband, Kailash Sahu, was away at the local market to purchase rations, leaving her alone. Miscreants took advantage of her solitude and stormed into her house, attacking her head with a sharp weapon.

Upon returning, Kailash found Sukanti unconscious in a pool of blood and rushed her to Simulia Health Centre with the help of neighbours.

Due to her deteriorating condition, she was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The Simulia police are currently investigating the incident.
