Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Anganwadi Workers staged a mass dharna over their 10-point charter of demands at the Lower PMG Square here today.
The agitating Anganwadi Workers are demanding government servant status and a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 and Rs 9,000 monthly salary for Anganwadi helpers.
The Anganwadi Workers Association’s demands include payment of gratuity as per the direction of the Supreme Court, summer vacation for Anganwadi Workers, exclusion of Anganwadi Workers from Gaon Kalyan Samitis, teacher status for Anganwadi Workers, retirement benefits and Rs 5,000 pension.
