**Angul:** In yet another man-animal conflict, a farmer was trampled to death by an elephant at Barapada village under Madhapur forest range here late on last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sushil Behera.
According to reports, the elephant attacked Sushil and his brother when they were resting in their makeshift watch tower amid their paddy field.
While the elephant trampled Sushil to death, his brother managed to escape.
After the incident, tension prevailed in the area and locals demanded adequate compensation for the family members of the deceased.
