Bhubaneswar: The Capital City’s active case tally rose to 977 today with another 148 persons testing positive for Coronavirus on Sunday.
In July 2020, Bhubaneswar’s active cases crossed 1,000-mark and for four months (till November), the numbers remained over 1,000. With today’s surge, the active case tally of the State Capital nears the 1,000-mark again.
As of Sunday, Odisha’s active caseload stood at 7,979. In June 2020, Odisha’s active cases surged above 1,000 and the trend continued for 8 months.
It was in February 2021, the State’s active caseload dipped below the 1,000-mark.
Among the fresh cases in Bhubaneswar, 116 are local contact cases while 32 persons are in quarantine.
The maximum cases (15) were detected from Khandagiri and Pokariput (10) on April 11.
With Sunday’s spike, Bhubaneswar’s COVID tally rose to 33,512. Similarly, 54 persons recovered from the disease here. So far, 32,264 persons have recuperated from the infection in the city.
