Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department on Sunday confirmed another 23 deaths due to COVID-19. As per the data on the COVID dashboard of the department, 9 deaths were confirmed in Khurda while 3 cases were reported from Puri.
Similarly, 2 persons have died due to the disease in Nayagarh and Koraput each, while 1 case each was reported from Bhadrak, Bolangir, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Keonjhar districts.
With the latest surge, the COVID toll of Odisha rose to 8734, while 53 persons suffering from coronavirus infection have died due to other ailments. The active case tally of the State stood at 23,672 with a surge of 2,083 registered during last 24 hours.
