Jajpur: Another accused in the death of 21-year-old Ramadevi University student Jharaphula Nayak has been arrested by Jajpur Police.
Jajpur SP Rahul PR informed about the arrest of accused Shakti Swain, an associate of prime accused Rakesh Swain (Jharaphula’s male friend).
Shakti had helped Rakesh in taking Jharaphula’s body on a scooter from Bhubaneswar to Jajpur. He was absconding after the incident.
Reportedly, Jajpur police had earlier this month arrested one Amresh Rout from Sunderpada area of Bhubaneswar on charges of assisting Rakesh in disposing of Jharaphula’s body.
Jharaphula, a student +3, Second Year at Ramadevi Women’s University in Bhubaneswar, was a resident of Jashipur in Mayurbhanj district. Her body was found under mysterious circumstances at Mulapala in Kuakhia on January 27.
Based on CCTV footage, the police identified Rakesh who was arrested a day later.
