**Bargarh:** Amidst the scores of farmer suicides reported from Western Odisha’s Bargarh district, one more farmer has allegedly committed suicide over crop loss and debt burden.
The farmer, identified as Dhanpati Biswal (70), hails from Gaisima village in Bargarh district. His son Rajendra has alleged that he took the extreme step after the paddy crops on his 5-acre land got completely destroyed in the ‘kalbaisakhi’ (nor’wester) showers.
As per the information, Biswal had consumed pesticides on the night of May 31. He was admitted to Bargarh District Hospital in a very critical condition.
He was later shifted to Burla’s VIMSAR where he succumbed in the late hours of Friday night.
