Dhenkanal: The body of an elephant was found in Kesara jungle under Mahavir Road Range on Sunday. The elephant carcass was spotted by local villagers who alerted the forest officials.
According to reports, the tusker was aged about 25 years and died due to electrocution.
However, the body has been sent for autopsy, and actual cause of death will be ascertained after post-mortem, a forest personnel said.
On Saturday, a tusker was found electrocuted in a trap set up by poachers inside Satkosia wildlife sanctuary. With this, Four elephants have died of electrocution in less than a week in the State.
The other two cases were reported from Judia under Keonjhar Sadar Range.
