Bhubaneswar: Another school teacher has been punished for his alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the dual polls in Odisha.
According to reports, Govardhan Pradhan, a teacher posted at the Tribal High School in Kantamal constituency, has been transferred over his alleged involvement in political activity ahead of the twin polls in the state. Pradhan has now been transferred to Mathura Panchayat High School in the Boudh constituency.
Following the confirmation of the allegation against him, the Boudh District Collector-cum-District Election Officer directed the District Education Officer (DEO) to take action against the accused teacher on April 13.
Earlier, a teacher of Dahya Government Nodal High School in the district was suspended for participating in an election rally organised by a political party.
The Boudh Collector and District Election Officer found her guilty and placed the assistant teacher Sanghamitra Mallick under suspension.
