**Bhubaneswar:** In a bid to combat the Maoist menace in Odisha and also to further intensify the anti-Maoist operation, an important strategic meeting between the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Odisha Police was held in the camp office of Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) at the Commissionerate Police headquarters here in the State capital city on Thursday.
Prominent among others, CRPF Special Director General (DG) Central Zone Kuldeep Singh, Odisha DGP K.B. Singh, Odisha Intelligence chief Sunil Ray and IG Operations R.P. Koche participated in the high level meeting on the anti-Maoist operation.
After the meeting, DGP K.B. Singh briefed media, “Stress was given upon intensifying joint combing operations. Odisha reiterated its demand for deployment of two more battalions of CRPF in Odisha. Focus will be on Maoist-affected Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Kalahandi. Odisha cadre Maoists are now passive. Left wing extremists from neighbouring Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand are now infiltrating into Odisha due to porous border.”
