Anti-Odisha Remarks: Assembly Forgives Apologetic & Repentant Abhijit Iyer Mitra

**Bhubaneswar: ** As the people of Odisha are eager to know about the findings of House Committee on Abhijit Iyer Mitra for his anti-Odisha remarks after the report was tabled today in the Assembly, the panel has recommended that the House should grant repentant Abhijit apology.

In his media reactions, Leader of Opposition and House Committee chairman Narasingha Mishra said that the panel realized that he has voluntarily and sincerely begged apology for which the House should accept it.

He also informed that the report submitted has been accepted by the House.
He also stated that the House has been requested to provide all requisite documents and information to Abhijit so that he could enhance his knowledge of Odisha’s art and cultural heritage.

Senior House Committee member Debi Prasad Mishra told media, “Our glorious and magnanimous culture of Lord Jagannath and sacred soil of Kalinga and Utkal know to forgive. The Committee report was tabled today in the Assembly. Hence, a motion was moved for it for the members to forgive him.”

He added, “The Committee has also suggested to provide him with the required books, journals and documents so that he gain better knowledge of the glorious cultural heritage, art and sculptor of Odisha.”

“The Assembly today unanimously resolved to forgive apologetic and repentant Abhiit Iyer Mitra,” Mishra informed.
