**Bhubaneswar:** A biopic on Hockey’s living legend Dilip Tirkey is coming up before the upcoming Hockey World Cup scheduled in November here in Odisha.
Reportedly, popular Odia film actor Anubhav Mohanty will be seen playing Tirkey in the biopic.
What is interesting is that both are coincidentally Rajya Sabha MPs from Odisha and too from the same political party.
The actor has informed that the biopic will be released before the upcoming Hockey World Cup that is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar.
Reports added, the script for the film has already been completed and the shooting will begin after the Budget Session of the Parliament concludes.
The film will show many unknown stories of Tirkey, best known for his penalty corner hits and his struggle to bring back India’s glory in Hockey.
Padma Shri-awardee Dilip Tirkey is the former captain of the Indian Hockey team, best known for his penalty corner hits. Dilip has also carved a niche for being one of the most difficult defenders to beat in the world.
He has not only been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri, but also Arjuna and Ekalavya awards for Hockey earlier.
On 22 March 2012, he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha as one of the three BJD candidates to the Upper House of Indian Parliament.
He will be retiring from his statutory six-year-tenure of Rajya Sabha membership on April 3 this year.
