**Bhubaneswar:** Amid the hue and cry over CBI summon to two ruling BJD MLAs allegedly in connection with the Seashore scam, former minister Arun Sahoo on Friday said he will depose before the central investigating agency and answer all the questions.
Answering media queries, Sahoo said, “Will depose before the CBI soon and answer all the questions. I am also as anxious as you to know why I have been summoned four-and-half years after the probe began.”
Former minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, who has also received the summon along with Sahoo also said he will depose before the CBI soon and cooperate in the probe process.
Reportedly, Nayagarh MLA Sahoo and Mahakalapada MLA Atanu have been re-summoned by the CBI to depose before it in connection with the multi-crore chit fund scam.
While Sahoo had been asked to appear in the CBI office at Bhubaneswar on January 28, Atanu been asked to depose on January 30. However, both the MLAs did not turn up, said CBI sources.
The CBI jumping into action barely three months prior to the 2019 elections have attracted criticism from political circles, where it is abuzz that the BJP-led Centre is carrying out a political vendetta, right before the elections.
In the past, two BJD MLAs – Prabhat Ranjan Biswal and Pravat Tripathy and Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansdah were arrested for their alleged links with different chit fund companies. They are now on bail.
