Bhubaneswar: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana returnees will have to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine for 14 days at TMCs in Odisha. The decision has been taken in view of the detection of a virulent variant of COVID-19 virus in the neighbouring states, an order issued by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) stated.
The returnees with double dose vaccination certificate or RTPCR test (negative) report within 48 hours before entering Odisha, will be allowed Home Quarantine for 7 days. Non-compliance of COVID-19 home quarantine protocols will lead to a further institutional quarantine of the violator, the order stated.
The Collectors of Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur have been directed to erect border check posts on all inter-state roads along Andhra Pradesh and Telangana border. The district administration shall ensure border tracking for all major and minor entry points for people coming from these two states.
People coming on emergency works related to COVID-19 management by Government and private hospitals as well as those coming in connection with any work permitted by the Government of Odisha shall be exempt from this order. However, such persons shall strictly follow COVID-19 appropriate protools and shall perform minimum necessary travel as required to perform the task (official duty), the order added.
