Bhubaneswar: ‘Apana Mane Khusi Ta’ is a phrase every Odia is familiar with. Used for the first time at the 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, it has unofficially become his trademark.
Such is the popularity of the phrase that it has caught the imagination of people abroad too. It was proved during the interaction of the Chief Minister with the Odia diaspora in Dubai on Wednesday.
On the demand of the non-resident Odias, the Chief Minister repeated this popular phrase. It received a great response drawing a huge cheer and applause from the audience. It was followed by ‘Naveen Patnaik zindabad’ slogans.
It is also worthwhile to mention that the phrase ‘Apana Mane Khusi Ta’ and Patnaik’s works as the Chief Minister of Odisha has also inspired a rap song ‘Khusi Ta’ by rapper Samir Rishu Mohanty aka ‘Big Deal’.
