Bhubaneswar: Apollo Green Energy Ltd, which is currently constructing a 54 MWP power project worth Rs 151 crore at Ganjam, showed interest to implement green energy projects in other parts of Odisha as well.
The company made a power point presentation today for setting up solar power projects in Odisha during a meeting chaired by deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo.
Singh Deo said that Odisha is fully committed to realizing the goal of Clean and Green India of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government will provide all possible facilities and support to achieve the ambitious goal of green energy in Odisha, he added.
Apollo Green Energy is currently constructing a 54 MWP power project worth Rs 151 crore at Ganjam district of Odisha in EPC- Ground solar mode. Similarly, it is keen to implement green energy projects in other parts of Odisha as well. It has proposed to invest Rs 4500 crore for a total of 1000 MW green energy projects.
With this, 3000 people will be directly and indirectly get the employment opportunity along with the generation of solar power. As per the requirement, the facility of storing the surplus electricity in batteries (battery energy storage system) after consumption will also be available in this project.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Vishal Dev, OPTCL CMD Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, Gridco MD Trilochan Panda, Apollo Green Energy Limited CEO Sanjay Gupta, President Rakesh Gupta and senior officers of Energy department.
