Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the application deadline for the Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana to September 8.

According to reports, the Odisha government has extended the application deadline for the Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana, a health insurance scheme for working journalists, for the second time.

This decision comes as per the directive of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who initially extended the deadline from August 25 to August 30 and now further extended it to September 8, considering requests from journalists.

Under this scheme, journalists and their families are entitled to receive cashless medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh at empaneled hospitals. Applications are being accepted online for both new enrollments and renewals at www.owjws.odisha.gov.in.

The scheme aims to support journalists in times of medical emergencies, ensuring they receive the necessary care without financial burden.
