Bhubaneswar: If today’s developments in the Odisha Assembly are any indication, BJD supremo and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik is working hard to rejuvenate the regional party and keep his flock together.
While entering the Odisha Assembly to attend the Budget Session on Thursday Patnaik rebuked party’s Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud for absenting from the BJD legislature party meeting on Wednesday. He asked Mahakud if the later was joining the BJP.
When Patnaik asked Mahakud why he was absent from the BJD legislators’ meeting, the latter replied saying that he was unwell. However, Naveen further asked him whether he was leaning towards the BJP.
“Why didn’t you attend the party meeting yesterday,” questioned Naveen. The Champua MLA replied, “I was unwell yesterday.” Patnaik went on to ask, “Arey, are you leaning towards BJP?”
Apparently, this may seem to be an insignificant development, but it has triggered discussions in the political circles in the capital.
