Cuttack: Armed miscreants on Friday looted over Rs 1.5 crore from an ATM cash refill van in Athgarh area of Cuttack district.
“7-8 miscreants who came in a Scorpio vehicle intercepted the ATM cash refill van of a cash management agency and looted the cash box at the point of a pistol and other weapons. There was over Rs 1.5 crore cash in the cash box,” informed Mihir Panda, SP Cuttack (Rural).
Panda, however, added that the exact amount looted will be known after the cash management agency files a report with the police.
He said that three special teams have been formed to investigate the case.
“We have set up road blocks at different places, we are also coordinating with neigbouring districts and have been put on alert,” he further informed.
