Armed Robbers Nabbed In Odisha’s Sundergarh

**Sundergarh**: Three armed burglars who were involved in a house robbery that occurred on July 11 in Sundergarh’s Jagda area, were nabbed by the cops yesterday. Several gold, silver and diamond jewellery items, a pistol and four bullets were also recovered from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Sarfaraj Ansari, Manwar Ansari and Dhiraj Kumar Sahoo. The police are still in search of three other accomplices.

On July 11, six robbers broke into one Sudipta Tripathy’s house in the afternoon and looted expensive ornaments along with three wrist watches, two mobiles and Rs 6000 cash on gun point. The burglars had decamped before the police could reach the site.

The cops found a photocopy of Dhiraj Kumar Sahoo’s Aadhaar Card from the house and it was discovered that Sahoo was involved in masonry work of Tripathy’s house. Police suspect that he was the mastermind behind the incident.

Rourkela’s Additional SP D.P Das said, “Around ninety per cent of the stolen items have been recovered. As far as arms and ammunition are concerned, we suspect that we might find more. We are still in search of the three other robbers who are probably from Bihar.”
