Bhubaneswar: Nandapur Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Snigdha Rani Mishra who was arrested by Vigilance department officials for taking a bribe of Rs 1.75 lakh from a member of Mini Bhairavi Self Help Group on Tuesday for passing a bill of Rs 9.47 lakh for purchase of ‘Chhatua’was today sent to judicial custody by the Special Vigilance Court Jeypore.
The CDPO was sent to Jeypore Sub Divisional Jail till November 7 on judicial custody by Special Vigilance Judge Srikant Mishra.
She was produced before the Special Vigilance Court after a medical examination of her was conducted at the district headquarters hospital at Jeypore.
Special vigilance Public Prosecutor M Balaji Rao has informed that Snigdha Rani’s bail plea will be taken up for hearing on November 4.
The Vigilance department had earlier registered a case against Snigdha Rani for possessing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income in 2016.
