Bhubaneswar: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Friday commenced the repair work of Natamandap of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri after the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) granted its approval to the ASI for the same on Thursday.
It is worth mentioning here that the permission to begin repair of the Natamandir comes in the wake of a directive from the Orissa High Court in this regard on Thursday.
SJTA Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das said that the repair work will be undertaken between 6.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. daily keeping in view that it does not disrupt rituals or the devotees.
The Puti Jagannath Temple’s technical team will oversee the repair, while the shrine commander and supervisor will manage the crowd.
The ASI plans to use iron scaffolding for the repairs in coordination with temple officials.
