Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) of Bologarh Police Station in Khordha district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 6000.
ASI Bhagaban Swain had demanded the said amount from a woman to help her son and his associate in a case registered earlier at Bologarh Police Station.
Based on her complaint, the vigilance had laid a trap. The entire bribe amount was recovered and seized from his possession. Further investigation is in progress.
