ASI To Look After Conservation, Maintenance Of 3 Temples In Odisha

**Bhubaneswar:** The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will be working towards the conservation and maintenance of three temples in Odisha, stated Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma today in reply to a letter of Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

“All the three monuments (temples) namely Bhringeswara Mahadev Temple at Bajrakote, District Angul; Ancient Fort, Haipurgarh, District Mayurbhanj and Kanakeswara Mahadev Temple, Kualo, District Dhenkanal have been inspected and detailed report is already prepared for conservation and maintenance by officials of ASI Bhubaneswar Circle,” read the letter by Sharma.

He further mentioned that estimates have been prepared for comprehensive conservation and development of all the three temples and approvals have been obtained.

While tenders have been floated for Bhringeswara Mahadev Temple and Kanakeswara Mahadev Temple, floating of tender for Ancient Fort is in progress and works on all these temples are expected to begin by December, 2018, Sharma added.

Pradhan in a letter dated May 11, 2018 had requested for conservation, protection and development of the three ASI protected temples.
