Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday rejected a review and a writ petition filed for reconsideration of its verdict in connection with the alleged irregularities in the conduct of the recruitment examination for the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO).
After hearing both petitions simultaneously, the High Court upheld its previous order regarding the publication of a fresh merit list.
It is worth mentioning here that on May 19 this year the High Court scrapped the merit list of the examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for recruiting 796 Assistant Section Officers. The court had ordered the OPSC to publish a fresh merit list within two months on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the written examination.
The recruitment exam was conducted on 27 August 2022 and the results were declared on 7 November 2022.
