Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Administrative Service Association (OASA) has called off its planned mass leave today, after Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi assured them of strict action against those responsible for the assault on Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo.

The CM met with OASA members late Monday night, along with top officials, including the Chief Secretary, DGP, Commissioner of Police, and Advocate General. Majhi assured the association that the perpetrators, regardless of their influence, would face stringent punishment under the law.

Earlier, three accused had been arrested, and a hunt was underway to apprehend the others involved. The OASA had planned a mass leave to protest the violent act against a government official, but decided to postpone it after the CM’s assurance.

The association has decided to hold meetings in all districts to condemn the incident and will send a resolution to the state association. OASA has also received support from other associations, including IAS, OFS, and OSS. The CM’s intervention has brought a reprieve, but the association remains vigilant, ensuring that such incidents do not recur.

Following the meeting with CM, the association has decided not to go for the mass leave rather postpone it.
