Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials arrested Pravas Kumar Pradhan, Superintendent Engineer, Irrigation Division, Balasore on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to known source of income. When vigilance sleuths conducted searches in his establishments, they were astounded by the extent of his real estate holdings
“Based on searches conducted on properties of Sri Pravas Kumar Pradhan, Chief Construction Engineer, Anandpur Barrage Project, Salapada, Keonjhar, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 1 Five storeyed building, 1 Market complex, 85 Plots, Gold approx 335 gms, Deposits over Rs.78 Lakhs, Cash Rs.11.7 Lakhs etc, which he could not account for satisfactorily”, read the release issued by the anti-graft agency.
Balasore Vigilance has registered a case against Pradhan and he will be forwarded to court today.
Earlier, Pradhan served as the Chief Construction Engineer of Anandpur Barrage Project, Salapada, Keonjhar.
The Vigilance sleuths conducted searches following the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Seven teams of Odisha Vigilance comprising 2 Addl. SP, 4 DSPs, 6 Inspectors, 7 ASIs and other supporting staff conducted the search on the strength of ‘Search Warrants’ issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.
