Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance unearthed substantial assets belonging to Rama Chandra Satpathy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Athamallik block in Angul district.
According to sources, searches conducted at Satpathy’s residence and other properties revealed a vast array of assets, including:
- A double-storeyed residential building with an area of approximately 5000 sqft located at Ward No. 15, Plot No. 12, Gayatri Nagar, Dhenkanal.
- 17 high-value plots, including one in Barang, Cuttack, and 16 in and around Dhenkanal town. The valuation of these assets is being assessed by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
- 326 grams of gold ornaments.
- Cash recoveries totalling Rs. 45.95 lakhs, including Rs. 22 lakhs and Rs. 23.95 lakhs seized from the residences of Satpathy’s son-in-law, Dr Tapan Kumar Tripathy, Medical Officer at CHC, Junagarh.
- Bank deposits exceeding Rs. 63.69 lakhs, with further deposits being ascertained.
- Two four-wheelers (Honda Jazz and Hyundai i20) and two two-wheelers.
Both Satpathy and his son-in-law, Dr Tapan Kumar Tripathy, are being interrogated by the Vigilance team to determine the source of these assets.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be revealed as the probe progresses.
