Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case under Athamallik Block in Angul district.
The accused, identified as Rama Chandra Satpathy, has been arrested for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to an official press release, he will be produced before the court today.
Based on searches conducted at the properties of Satpathy, the Vigilance Department uncovered assets including a double-storey building, 22 high-value plots, gold ornaments weighing approximately 350 grams, bank deposits exceeding Rs 1.16 crore, and cash of Rs 23.95 lakhs (recovered from his son-in-law’s house). Satpathy was unable to satisfactorily explain the origins of these assets.
In connection with the case, Odisha Vigilance has registered a file under Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 10/2025. The investigation is currently ongoing.
