Asst Engineer Caught Taking Bribe In Koraput

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Friday apprehended Bhanumati Tudu, Assistant Engineer of Kundura block in Koraput district while taking bribe.

Tudu was caught by Vigilance officials while she was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 at the Kundura Block office from a complainant (beneficiary) for facilitating release of bill for construction of a ‘cattle shed’, said an official press release.

Vigilance officials have seized the bribe money from accused Tudu’s possession.

Following the trap, Vigilance officials are conducting searches at three locations of Tudu from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
