Bhubaneswar: Renowned astronaut and Group Captain in the Indian Air Force, Shubhanshu Shukla, arrived in Bhubaneswar today and will address students at a private school event tomorrow.
Shukla, who made history as the mission pilot for Axiom Mission 4 to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2025, expressed his excitement to share his space experience with young talents.
“I am very excited to speak to the school children and encourage those interested in studying aerospace science,” Shukla said. “Our country needs talented individuals to drive progress in this field, and I’m looking forward to inspiring them” .
The event is part of SAITED 2025, a major science and technology festival organised by SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, expected to attract over 5,000 students from government and private schools across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, will grace the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest ².
Shukla’s visit is a significant milestone for India’s space program, as he becomes the second Indian to travel to space after Rakesh Sharma in 1984. His mission provided valuable experience for India’s upcoming Gaganyaan programme.
