Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths launched simultaneous house searches at eight locations linked to Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Athagarh Block Development Officer (BDO) in Odisha’s Cuttack district based on the allegation of possessing assets disproportionate to his income.
According to a press release issued by the Odisha Vigilance department, the simultaneous house searches are being led by six DSPs, six Inspectors, 10 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, in Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Nayagarh, and Cuttack.
The searches are being undertaken at the following places:
- The residential house of Sahu at Flat No 6, Shree Enclave, at Gautam Nagar in Bhubaneswar.
- A single-storeyed building on plot No 444/1439 at Bhaliabadi near the old police station in Khordha.
- A triple-storeyed building at Rajsunakhala Sahi, Rajsunakhala in Nayagarh district.
- A single-storeyed building at Rajsunakhala in Nayagarh district.
- Sahu’s paternal house located at Rajsunakhala in Nayagarh district.
- A house belonging to Sahu’s relative and located at Pichukuli in Khordha district.
- The official residence of Sahu at Athagarh.
- The office chamber of Sahu at the Athagarh BDO office.
The searches are underway and a detailed report is awaited.
