Bhubaneswar: Following the vigilant public, the sleuths of Commissionerate Police were today successful in averting a ATM loot in the capital city here.
Talking to media, Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash said, “In the wee hours between 4.30 and 5 am today, the attempt was being made at the Cuttack Road-based Indian Bank’s ATM here. Some miscreants with an iron rod and screw drivers in hands were attempting to loot it.
The locals got alerted and also alerted the police following which one has been arrested.”
He added, “Basing on his interrogation, four others have also been detained and investigation is on. Total five persons are being grilled. Details on their identity and crime antecedents are being verified.”
“Most probably they hail from the peripheral slum areas,” the DCP quipped.
