Bhubaneswar: On August Kranti Diwas, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi remembered the freedom fighters who took part in the Quit India Movement.
Taking to Twitter, CM wrote: “I bow down to the brave freedom fighters on August Kranti Diwas. Their selfless sacrifices and struggles for India’s independence from British colonial rule will always be remembered and revered as an inspiration for generations to come.”
It is pertinent to mention that August Kranti Diwas marks the anniversary of the Quit India Movement.
The Quit India Movement, also known as the Bharat Chodo Andolan, was started by Mahatma Gandhi on August 9, 1942, during the Second World War, demanding an end to British rule in India, as per the Ministry of Culture.
