Rayagada: Unidentified criminals murdered an auto-rickshaw driver in the Tikiri police station area of Rayagada district on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Balaram Khara, a native of Garidi village in Koraput district. He was living with his family in a rented house in Doraguda ARI Colony in Rayagada district.
According to reports, Balaram driving his auto from Singaram towards Tikiri this afternoon when some miscreants attacked him at Phulyoba Crossing. They killed Balaram by slitting his throat with sharp weapons. Finding the auto-rickshaw driver lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road, passers-by informed the police.
On being informed, police reached the spot along with the scientific team. The body has been seized and sent for post-mortem. The police have launched an investigation into the crime.
