Malkangiri: A newborn baby girl was rescued by the local people after she was thrown into the dung heap in a net bag. According to information, a baby girl was found crying from a dung heap full of garbage in Talasahi area of Malkangiri today morning.

Around 4am in the morning, someone put a baby girl in a basket and left it at the garbage heap. When some local families heard the baby girl’s cry, they first assumed that it was coming from a neighbouring house.

But after hearing the constant crying, some people went to the place with lights and found that it was coming from the heap of garbage. Looking closely, they spotted the basket and saw a new born baby girl.

Locals alerted Childline personnel who rushed to the spot and rescued the newborn. The baby has been admitted to the hospital and is stated to be in good health. An investigation has been initiated in this connection.
