Bhubaneswar: A 3-year-old girl was mauled to death by a mad dog here on Thursday. The mishap occured in Balipata village under Patnagarh block in Bolangir district.
The deceased was identified as Deepa Munda, a native of Balipata village. The dog attacked the baby when she was playing on the village road, infront of her house.
Deepa screamed for help while being attacked by the dog. Her parents rushed to the spot and freed the baby from the dog in a bloodied state. She was declared dead at the hospital.
On the other hand, the locals, enraged by the incident, killed the dog, sources said.
