Keonjhar: The helper of a private bus rescued a baby girl in a plastic bag from near the wheels of the vehicle at the Champua bus stand in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday night.
According to reports, the helper, named Dhabaleshwar, spotted the abandoned baby girl inside a plastic bag while he was inspecting the vehicle on Sunday night. Finding the baby, he informed the locals as well as the police about the incident. After the police arrived at the spot, they sent the baby to the nearby Champur Sub-District Hospital. The baby is said to be in a good health condition.
It is suspected that the baby’s mother abandoned her and fled the bus stand. She left her daughter near the wheel so that the baby would be crushed under it when the bus started. Meanwhile, the police have launched a search to trace the whereabouts of the baby girl’s mother.
