Bhubaneswar: Wrapped in a polythene sheet, a newborn baby girl was found lying under a bush at Dhamara Karanjamala in Bhadrak district, on Friday.
Fortunately, a passerby identified as Sumitra Majhi, heard the baby’s cries and rescued her. The baby was initially admitted to a nearby hospital but was later shifted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital as her condition deteriorated.
However, it is still unknown who and why abandoned the baby girl near the bush. Police have launched an investigation to find out the culprits who abandoned the baby girl.
