Soro: At least 13 people were injured in two separate road accidents under Soro police limits in Balasore district on Saturday.
In the first incident, an Innova car travelling from Khaira towards Soro collided with a motorcycle near Kanpur. The riders—Akash Sethi (40) and his wife Sabita Sethi (35) of Kanthisahi in Bhadrak district—sustained serious injuries.
Shortly afterward, the same Innova overturned at Nayanajori and crashed into three motorcycles parked along the roadside, injuring eight more people. Locals rescued the victims and rushed them to Soro hospital, from where five critically injured persons were shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
In another accident near Bartana Chhak, a Scorpio travelling from Bahanaga towards Soro rammed into two motorcycles. Manoranjan Patra of Adanga village, and Sheikh Ajibula of Sahaspura village along with his wife Najma Bibi were seriously injured. All three were admitted to Soro hospital and later shifted to Balasore DHH as their condition was critical.
The Scorpio driver fled the scene. Police have seized the vehicle and begun investigating both incidents.
