Bhubaneswar: General darshan at Shree Jagannath temple was disrupted for around one and a half hours due to the ‘Bada Mahasnan’ ritual in the 12th-century shrine today.
The special ritual was necessitated after a kid vomited near the Bhitar Katha of the temple amid the heavy rush of devotees. After the incident, the temple door was closed, and purified with a special ritual.
As per reports, general darshan was going on after Abakash Puja in the morning amid the rush of devotees.
In the middle of the rush at Bhitarkatha, a kid, being suffocated, vomited, prompting the servitors to halt the darshan and purify the shrine through Bada Mahasnan. The special ritual delayed other rituals in the temple, leading to devotees waiting in long queues outside the temple.
