Bhubaneswar: The Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre (BKPCC) is going to start its In-Patient services from April 10.
The health care centre will accept patients meeting the criteria like advance stage cancer with no further curative treatment intent, Excessive symptom burden (for eg – pain, vomiting, breathlessness, delirium, etc), wound dressing for oozing, bleeding and wounds with maggots, patients requiring End of Life Care and Respite Care (Excessive caregiver burden).
The team of experienced healthcare professionals at Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre is dedicated to ensure quality of life, comfort and dignity of each patient under our care, a release issued by the centre stated.
“With the focus on pain and other symptom-distressing management, psychological support and spiritual care, we strive to create a warm and nurturing environment where patients and families can find solace during the challenging times,” it said.
The health care institute suggested people to contact the officials if they have patients who meet the criteria for In-patient hospice care.
Patient’s caregivers are required to bring the relevant medical documents before bringing the patients for admission, the release added.
