**Cuttack:** With the mega annual fair Bali Jatra and Hockey World Cup celebrations clashing on November 28 (Wednesday), Commissionerate Police has taken up the challenge and has tightened its belts to not let both the crowds mingle.
“Our main goal is to not let the crowds of World Cup celebrations and Bali Jatra mingle. There should not be any conflict of movement and we have made elaborate traffic arrangements for that. Parking area has been extended by 8-10 acres and bus arrangements have also been made for smooth flow of traffic,” said Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty after briefing the police force today.
“For the World Cup celebrations in Cuttack Barabati Stadium tomorrow AR Rahman has confirmed his presence. We have also got the information that other stars are coming, so we have banned objects like water bottles, bags, crackers, banners, flags, fruits, biscuit and food packets, metal containers, glass mirrors, cigarettes, matchstick, razor, etc from entering the venue. Only ladies handbag is allowed,” he explained.
The 2-hour-porgram for 35000 audiences will have elaborate security arrangements. 30 supervisory officers along with 250 inspectors and sub-inspectors and 50 platoons of force will be deployed for the event.
Mohanty concluded by appealing to the people, “Since, we are following normal entry and exit routes like in cricket matches, I request you that those who don’t have tickets please don’t gather around the stadium and caused traffic jams.”
