Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Rs 1.95 crore for the next of kin of the 39 persons so far identified to have been killed in the Bahanaga train tragedy from Odisha .
The money is being paid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), said an official press release.
The deceased persons include 8 from Bhadrak, 2 from Jajpur, 14 from Balasore, 9 from Mayurbhanj, 2 from Khordha, 3 from Cuttack, and 01 from Keonjhar.
An assistance of Rs 5 lakh each is being provided to the next of kin of the deceased persons.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief Minister had earlier announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of the persons from Odisha killed in the triple train accident.
