Puri: The Bahuda Yatra concluded with the three chariots Taladhwaja, Darpadalana and Nandighosha reaching in front of the Shree Jagannath Temple here on Wednesday evening.
After completing their nine-day sojourn at the Shree Gundicha Temple, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath, reached the Singhadwar (Lions Gate of the Shree Jagannath Temple) mounted on their respective chariots Taladhwaja, Darpadalana and Nandighosha.
Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja was the first to arrive in front of the Singhadwar followed by Devi Subhadra’s Darpadalana. And Nandighosa-the chariot of Lord Jagannath was the last to arrive at 6.43 PM.
Lakhs of devotees participated in the pulling of the chariots to the chants of Haribol, Jay Jagannath and singing of kirtans.
Nandighosa-Lord Jagannath’s chariot halted for a while at the Mausi Maa Temple en route to Singhdwar from Shree Gundicha Temple for the Lord to relish on ‘poda pitha’.
Lord Jagannath’s chariot also halted for a while near Puri Gajapati’s palace-Shree Nahar for the Lakshmi Narayan Bheta ritual. The ritual was conducted by Gajapati Maharaja Dibya Singha Deb and sevayats of the temple.
A Bhoi servitor Nakula Bhoi was injured after a rope of the Taladhwaja chariot snapped near Market Chhak. Nakula who has sustained injuries on his face after falling down following the snapping of the rope has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital here.
