Puri: The sacred Bahuda Yatra—the return journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra—has commenced in Puri, also known as Srikhetra, with lakhs of devotees participating in the grand event.
The pulling of the chariots began at 3 PM, earlier than the scheduled time of 4 PM. By 4:30 PM, all three chariots had departed from Sharadhabali and were making their way toward the Shree Jagannath Temple (Srimandir).
As per tradition, Lord Balabhadra leads the procession, followed by Devi Subhadra, with Lord Jagannath’s chariot at the rear. Devotees and temple servitors alike believe the early commencement is a sign of the divine grace of Lord Jagannath.
There is widespread hope among devotees that all three chariots will reach the Singhadwara (Lions’ Gate) of Srimandir by 7:30 PM.
The Bada Danda (Grand Road) is teeming with lakhs of devotees, who have gathered with joy, reverence, and spiritual zeal. The air resonates with devotional chants, drumbeats, and the collective energy of the faithful.
The Rath Yatra is being conducted under tight security arrangements, with police and administrative personnel deployed in full strength to ensure a smooth and safe procession. The overall atmosphere in Puri is vibrant, devotional, and deeply spiritual.
